iciHaiti - Social : International Day of the Girl 2017
Awareness sessions, debates and inter-generation dialogue between the First Lady Martine Moïse and over 300 teenagers have marked the activities of the celebration of the International Day of the Girl 2017 organized at the Hotel Montana by the Ministry of Youth and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), in collaboration with other public partners, United Nations agencies and civil society organizations.

This day enabled several organizations and institutions to intervene for adolescents on themes such as: promotion and protection of children; school health in relation to happiness in life; gender-based violence; responsible sexual behavior and empowerment of adolescents through a dimension of citizen participation in protection, sexual and reproductive health.

In his speech Régine Lamur, the Youth Minister stressed that this day was to challenge the conscience of the actors responsible for the protection of girls and promoting their rights which must address the situation of this important and vulnerable class of the Haitian population.

The inter-generation dialogue that followed the screening of the film "Pouvwa m, Kominote m, Peyi m" allowed Martine Moïse to share her experience with the adolescent girls she invited to study, able to secure a future for them. After sharing her impressions of the film, Mrs. Moïse invited to the setting up of programs for young people
