Fans of comic book movies are being spoiled this month; new Captain Marvel footage, the release of Aquaman - not to mention the highly anticipated trailer and name reveal for the fourth Avengers film, which we now know will be called Avengers: Endgame.

And now, we've been given another teaser for an upcoming movie, this time in shape of a brand new poster for DC's Shazam!

The teaser trailer for Shazam! already had its outing at Comic-Con, but it's good to see DC capitalising on the superhero hype by reminding people we've got more films on the way.

Zachary Levi stars as Shazam!, the superhero alter-ego of Billy Batson (Asher Angel), a 14-year-old foster child who can transform into his crimefighting persona simply by saying one word - Shazam! - which is alluded to in the poster's tagline: "Just say the word."

According to the official plot, "Shazam revels in this adult version of himself by doing what any teen would do with superpowers: have fun with them! Can he fly? Does he have X-ray vision?

"Can he shoot lightning out of his hands? Can he skip his social studies test? Shazam sets out to test the limits of his abilities with the joyful recklessness of a child.

"But he’ll need to master these powers quickly in order to fight the deadly forces of evil controlled by Dr. Thaddeus Sivana."

Mark Strong, who previously portrayed Green Lantern villain Sinestro in the Ryan Reynolds film, will portray the villainous scientist Dr. Sivana.

Additionally, Guardians of the Galazy star Djimon Hounsou will portray the wizard who bestows Batson with the abilities.

The rest of the cast are mostly teens too, as they portray Batson's foster siblings.

We'll also get to meet Mary Bromfield and Freddy Freeman, who in the comics become Mary Marvel and Captain Marvel, Jr. respectively.

Shazam! is scheduled to be released on April 5, 2019.
