Bayern Munich star Kingsley Coman says he is ready to walk away from football if he suffers another serious injury.

France star Coman has long been seen as one of Europe's most talented young stars and has already won league titles in his homeland, Italy and Germany,

The 22-year-old joined Bayern in 2015, eventually costing £25million from Juventus, and has been tipped as the heir to long-time Bayern star Franck Ribery.

But injuries in recent years have severely restricted his development at the Allianz Arena, and he has made just three Bundesliga appearances this term.

Coman featured in Bayern's last two outings, having previously spent four months on the sidelines with damaged ankle ligaments that had required surgery.

Ankle and knee problems have been an unfortunate staple of his three-and-a-half years in Bavaria and Coman says that one more serious injury could see him turn his back on the game.

"It was a very difficult year," Coman told TF1 . "When I hurt myself, it was the end of the world for me.

"I hope I don't have to relive what I've been through. Enough is enough. I will not accept a third operation – it will mean maybe my foot is not made for this level.

"I will then lead another life, an anonymous life."

Coman, who has 15 caps for France but missed this summer's World Cup triumph, played 27 minutes in Die Roten's 3-0 win over Nurnberg at the weekend.

That result pushed Bayern back up to third in the league table, nine points off unbeaten league leaders Borussia Dortmund.

Coman will hope to see more minutes in this week's Champions League clash against Ajax in Amsterdam.
