A man said he’d been searching for diapers when he was found hiding under a pile of clothes while police searched a Tumon house that was broken into, according to a magistrate’s complaint filed in Superior Court.
Jeromie Ross Mariano, 39, was charged with burglary as a third-degree felony and criminal trespass and criminal mischief as misdemeanors.
Around 12:47 a.m. on June 2, officers observed the front door of a house in Tumon open, and made a check of the exterior of the building. They found the rear shutters to be pried open and the sliding glass door shattered.
Additional officers were called to the location to conduct a check of the interior.
The officers observed the interior of the residence in disarray, with miscellaneous items scattered on the floor throughout the house.
While conducting their check of the residence, officers found a man hiding under a pile of clothes.
Although the man initially gave the officers a false name, a search of his backpack produced a driver’s license with a picture bearing the name Jeromie Mariano.
The officers escorted Mariano out of the residence where they advised him of his Miranda rights.
During his interview, he admitted that he had initially lied about his name, and claimed that he had been searching the residence for diapers, the complaint stated.

FORGET BAIL. HOME DAMAGE EXCEEDS $2000.00 MAYBE MORE. LOCK HIM UP.
Why!
Guam has more news coverage of drug related family violence, assault, theft, burglary, stolen vehicles, homelessness, and sexual assault etc...it's apparent that the government resources or lack thereof services speaks volumes that there is no good reason to raise a family out here.
Ha-ha-ha! "Looking for diapers!" Give Jeromie a kudo for originality in excuses.
BUT, DON'T GIVE HIM BAIL!
DO GIVE HIM JAIL TIME THOUGH, BECAUSE JEROMIE IS NOT WANTED IN ANY NEIGHBORHOOD ON GUAM.
One wonders if he is linked to other burglaries on Guam?
